Climate change is a big challenge for our world, and at Compassion for Community Canada, we’re working on local solutions that protect nature and make our communities stronger. We believe that caring for our planet and helping our neighbours go hand in hand.
What We Do: Our Green Community Hubs program creates local spots where people can learn, work together, and take action on environmental issues. By focusing on growing our own food, reducing waste, and learning from traditional wisdom, we help communities live in a more earth-friendly way.
How We Help:
- Community Gardens: We grow fresh, healthy food together and teach how to garden in a way that helps the earth.
- Repair Cafés: Bring in broken items to fix them, learn new skills, and reduce waste by repairing instead of throwing away.
- Youth Climate Leadership Camps: We empower young people with the skills and knowledge to lead projects that help the environment.
- Indigenous Wisdom Sessions: We honour and share important traditional knowledge about living in harmony with nature, guided by Indigenous leaders.
