Community Mental Health Support

Mental health is a huge part of feeling good overall, but sometimes it’s really hard to get
help. People might feel embarrassed, worry about money, or face cultural
misunderstandings. At Compassion for Community Canada, we want to create spaces
where talking about mental health is normal and respected.
What We Do: Our Community Mental Health Program connects people to support that
fits their background and creates a safe place to share feelings. We also train local
leaders in mental health first aid, so they can guide others to the right kind of care. It’s
all about building a caring network in our own neighbourhoods.
How We Help:
 Support Groups: Safe, welcoming groups run in different languages where you
can connect with others, share your experiences, and heal together.
 Mental Health First Aid Training: We teach community leaders and volunteers
how to spot someone who might be struggling and how to offer help.
 Finding Services: We help newcomers, Indigenous people, and those in rural
areas find and get to the mental health support they need.
 Working with Local Partners: We team up with clinics and schools to make it
easier for people to get help early.
