What We Want to Achieve: Our goal is to help churches across Canada, the U.S., and Europe give practical help to schools and communities in Uganda that don’t have enough basic things. This means donating tech, supporting clean water, teaching good hygiene, helping with farming, having spiritual programs, and building new schools.
About the Program: Compassion for Community is running one big program called “Church Compassion for the Needy.” We’re inviting churches from all over the world to join us in tackling big problems in Uganda. Many schools and communities in Uganda simply don’t have enough basic things or chances to get ahead. This program helps churches step up and make a real difference, giving practical help that truly changes people’s lives.
How We Help (Program Activities):
- Tech for Learning: We’re asking churches to collect and donate:
- Computers, phones, printers, and tablets that still work. These devices will go to schools in Uganda to make learning better, help kids get online, and connect them to the wider world.
- Clean Water & Hygiene: Churches can help by supporting:
- Building new clean water systems or fixing old ones.
- Giving out hygiene items like soap, sanitary pads, and handwashing stations.
- Building toilets and clean washrooms. These efforts mean fewer sick days, more kids in school, and healthier places to learn.
- Community Farming: To make sure everyone has enough food and can support themselves locally, the program encourages help with:
- Donating seeds and tools.
- Teaching smart farming methods that last.
- Starting school and community gardens. This helps families and schools grow their own food, meaning better meals for everyone.
- Supporting Scripture Union in Schools: Churches can help students grow good values and strong spirits by:
- Supporting “Scripture Union” clubs in schools.
- Donating Bibles and other faith-based learning materials.
- Encouraging young people to grow in their faith and become good people. This helps build a strong foundation of good values and spiritual growth for the next generation.
- Building New Schools: We know some communities don’t have proper school buildings, so churches are asked to:
- Help build new schools in areas that really need them.
- Sponsor things like classroom blocks, libraries, or multi-purpose halls.
- Give building materials or money to help with construction. This gives more kids a chance to go to school by creating safe and good places to learn where there aren’t any now.
How We Find Churches: We’ll actively reach out to churches in Canada, the U.S., and Europe that:
- Have a proven track record of helping people and communities.
- Are open to starting to support global missions of compassion. We’ll personally contact each church we identify, invite them to partner with us, and show them exactly how to get involved.
Ways Churches Can Get Involved:
- Organize drives to collect tech and hygiene items.
- Sponsor specific projects (like a water well, a classroom, or a school farm).
- Raise money within their church.
- Commit to regular prayer and speaking up for the cause.
- Adopt a Ugandan school or community for continuous help.
The Impact We Hope For: Every bit of help — whether it’s items, money, or prayers — directly helps:
- Students get good education and technology.
- Schools and communities become healthier.
- People can grow their own food and have better ways to live.
- Young people grow up with strong values and spiritual guidance.
- More kids get to go to school because new schools are built. Together, these efforts bring hope, respect, and chances for a better future to those who need it most.
